TCT LOGISTICS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR BURAK VICTORY STATE STATED IN HIS STATEMENT TO TRANSPORTATION MAGAZINE THAT THEY HAVE PERFORMED ABOVE THEIR TARGETS AND THAT THEY WILL OPEN LIAISON OFFICES IN INDUSTRIAL CITIES IN TURKEY IN ORDER TO BE CLOSER TO THEIR CUSTOMERS IN 2023.
In which areas do you operate as a company?
As TCT Turkey, our strongest side is road transport. We carry out weekly partial and complete road transport to many countries in Europe. In order to offer a one-stop solution to our customers, we also operate in the fields of air, sea and intermodal transport as an alternative to road transport.
‘WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED OUR WAREHOUSE SANCTIONS FOR 2023 AS OF THIS YEAR’
You have left two years behind in Turkey. Could you summarise this process?
We have realised all our targets and plans with the support we have received from our solution partners and partners since our establishment. In line with our 3, 5 and 10-year business plan, we have exceeded our target of equipment units in 2 years. The development and growth of our fleet every day and alternatively provides our business partners with as much flexibility as possible. As of this year, we have brought forward our warehouse investment, which we had targeted for 2023, and realised it as of this year. In general, the last two years have been a very positive period full of investment and success for the TCT Turkey Family.
‘WE PLAN TO OPEN LIAISON OFFICES IN INDUSTRIAL CITIES IN TURKEY
In which locations are you planning to open offices this year and next year, and what are your other projects?
We have opened our first liaison office on the Anatolian side of Istanbul this year. After the large investments made in Anatolia in recent years, we plan to open liaison offices in different locations in Turkey, especially in industrial cities, in order to be closer to our customers in 2023. After our warehouse investment, one of the fields of activity that we will address in the first stage will be distribution operations. We want to carry out collection and distribution throughout Turkey. Abroad, we aim to make warehouse investments in Germany, France and Italy. In this way, we will provide our customers with a more flexible and faster service structure in terms of our road partial service.
‘’WE PLAN TO EXPAND OUR FLEET WITH 400 VEHICLES IN TOTAL‘’
We are also planning to provide dedicated warehouse services for ‘High Street’ and UK based retail chains. We aim to improve the quality of the products shipped to the UK by providing quality control and packaging services in our warehouse before weekly loading, thus providing both efficiency and cost advantages to our customers. In 2023, we aim to continue our equipment investments and expand our fleet with 400 vehicles in total. In this way, we will also expand the country network we serve.
Companies started to digitalise after the pandemic. Can you tell us about your technological infrastructure works?
As a company, we attach great importance to digitalisation and follow the developments. As a company that manages complete logistics processes, it is necessary to use technology and improve ourselves in this field. Competition is increasing day by day and we serve in an aggressive market. In order to ensure your continuity in this sector, you have to keep up with digitalisation and technology. We currently manage the entire process from order intake to final delivery in digital environment. We can report our entire process and make it traceable for our customers.
‘WE ARE PROGRESSING TOWARDS OUR GOALS STEP BY STEP, STEP BY STEP’
We are about to end the year 2022, can you summarise the process so far? How has it been, have you achieved your goals?
The process since our establishment has been very positive for our company, as I mentioned before, we are moving towards our goals step by step and firmly. As of today, we can say that we reached our targets before the end of the year. As a sector, we entered an intense tempo immediately after the pandemic started and as of today, we are moving forward without slowing down. In this process, Turkey’s geopolitical importance has increased even more and we have experienced a shift in orders from Asia to Turkey. Especially as a result of our state’s recent economic programme and exchange rate policies, creating cost advantages for exporting companies has led to an increase in production and exports in the country. I think that this situation will ensure that the Turkish market will be preferred in the coming period.
